I guess plaid really isn't so bad

I used to hate plaid. It's dated, unsophisticated, and heavy. But given the new season's love affair with the pattern, plaid, in moderation and in excess, works. Its depth adds another dimension to volumous silhouttes, while its coquettish school girl charm lightens up even the heaviest undertones of fall.

Burberry Prorsum
Alexander McQueen

Balenciaga

I suppose with the models he was using, a bit of padding on the hips wouldn't hurt them.

I loved the McQueen and the Balenciaga plaid, but everywhere else it just didn't feel very fresh. Ugh, especially Burberry. Did you see Moschino? I'm not sure about their plaid. I think I don't like it, but then I see it again and change my mind. Plaid was good for the most part though.
